Pumps that solve problems
Nothing but the hose or tube touches the fluid, eliminating the risk of the pump contaminating the fluid, or the fluid contaminating the pump. The animation shows fluid being drawn into a pump, trapped between two shoes (in a Bredel pump) or rollers (in a Watson-Marlow pump), and finally being expelled from the pump. The gaps between the packets of fluid are shown only to help visualize the action. The complete closure of the hose which is squeezed between a shoe and the track gives the pump its positive displacement action, preventing backflow and eliminating the need for check-valves when the pump is not running.
• There is no contamination of the pump or fluid
• Ideal for slurries, viscous, shear-sensitive and aggressive fluids
• Easy to install, simple to operate, inexpensive to maintain
• Pump design prevents backflow and syphoning without valves
• Wide range of tubing includes industrial, food-grade and medical
Watson-Marlow Bredel's range of pumps meets the demands of processes across all industries from the heaviest of manufacturing duties to the most precise research task. Over one million pumps sold testify to the time and money-saving abilities of Watson-Marlow Bredel pumps.
Bredel hose pumps - from the people who invented hose pumping
Bredel engineering created an entirely new type of pump - the high-pressure hose pump. Its patented technology achieved what was believed to be impossible: the unbeatable simplicity, reliability and low maintenance needs of peristaltic pumping brought to high-flow, high-pressure duties.
Today, 75,000 Bredel pumps are at work around the world at flow rates up to 350 gpm and pressures up to 230 psi. Hose pumps are the future, and they work. Tens of thousands of pump users know there isn't a more rugged and reliable solution to pumping problems than a Bredel.

Watson-Marlow Bredel tube pump series
Watson-Marlow Bredel tube pumps bring you...
• Accurate and repeatable flow rates; flows from 0.00015 GPD to 17.4 GPM, 3600:1 turndown
• Contamination free pumping - ideal for shear-sensitive fluids, viscous flids, and aggressive acids and caustics
• No vapor locking - When pumping mixed phase liquids like sodium hypochlorite, lobe and diaphragm pumps can vapor lock when the gas enters the pump chamber. Watson-Marlow Bredel pumps handle the gas as easily as liquid, eliminating the vapor lock.
• Easy to install, operate and maintain
• Virtually maintenance free - no expensive seals, valves, diaphragms or rotors to leak, clog or corrode

Sanitary pumps
Food processing demand sterility and a high degree of precision to ensure the integrity and quality of the end product. Fluid isolation and precise metering are vital, and not meeting these demands can be enormously costly. Peristaltic pumps from Watson-Marlow Bredel provide total process confidence and security by:
• Giving superior flow rate stability and metering accuracy
• Facilitating aseptic and sterile processes
• Providing gentle low shear pumping
• Extending validation periods
